980nm, is the peak interaction of light with H2O (water) in the body and with increase circulation and blood flow. The increase in circulation may help with tissue relaxation. This is also the most popular wavelength for pain control lasers and many doctors feel that 980nm system provide the highest level of pain control.

1064 nm wavelength has the lowest light scattering and promotes radiation penetration into deep layers of tissue.
